Service Design Network Switzerland (SDN-CH) and Interaction Design Association Zurich (IxDA Zurich) bring disciplines and people together with this co-organized event. Among others, the event features Switzerland-based speakers from the 2019 Service Design Global Conference, representing organizations large & small alike.
Talk 1 - Service Design and Storytelling
You Service designers are fairly obsessive creatures. You want one thing and one thing only: improve the customer’s experience of services. Well, here’s an unexpected tip for you: steal some techniques from storytellers. In this talk, Daniele and Romain will share 4 insights of their upcoming book: Storytelling insights for better services. This talk was presented as a workshop at the 2019 Service Design Global Conference in Toronto.
Daniele Catalanotto is a service designer and author who has published two books and multiple courses on Service Design.
Romain Pittet is a storyteller and copywriter who has helped startups, political parties and corporate organizations tell their stories.
Talk 2 - To Get the Right Answer Ask the Right Question
The quality of the solutions we come up with correlates to the quality of the description of the problem we're trying to solve. If the problem statement is not strong enough, it will cause serious issues during the work process. You will learn how to define a problem through examples and frameworks in 4 steps.
Roman Schöneboom is UX Design Systems Lead at Credit Suisse. He is a certified facilitator for the LEGO Serious Play method, teaches at universities, writes regularly about his work and is an avid drummer.

How to design in large and complex organizations. In this talk we’ll see how design practices can influence positively such organizations, to be more human-centric from various aspects.
