English ivy is an invasive vine that Stanley Park Ecology Society is removing with assistance from community volunteers- it happens to have great potential as a weaving basketry  material and this ongoing work is a part of the research underway to up-purpose invasives in a meaningful way. For more information about past ivy experiments go to the ivy project website.
