Event description

Description

“The role of disease in wildlife conservation has been radically underestimated.” These words weren’t written this year, or even within the last 50 years, but by Aldo Leopold in 1933. Since that time, wildlife professionals have learned much about the role of diseases in free-ranging wildlife. However, the emergence of new diseases, including many zoonoses, in combination with other factors has elevated the need for biologists and managers to deal with disease. Participants in this workshop will learn in depth about key wildlife diseases in Indiana and the Midwest. During the second day, participants will rotate through a series of hands-on stations. There will also be time to interact with other professionals over a buffet dinner and social. The ITWS continuing education committee is extremely excited to offer this program. We hope you can join us.
