About the Live Show:
The last time a Democratic presidential candidate won Mississippi was 1976, and Mississippi continues to be a strongly Republican state. The system that Mississippi uses for statewide elections, other than U.S. senator, dates back to the Jim Crow era. Candidates must win both the popular vote and the majority of House districts, which basically guarantees that Republicans maintain power. Maria and Julio talk with local guests about the legacy of Jim Crow, voting rights and the POC vote in Mississippi.
This event is open to the public - RSVP to reserve your *free* seat!
Doors open at 5:30pm and live show recording will begin promptly at 6pm.
