The NOLA Voice Talent Foundation is proud to announce their seventh annual benefit performance/broadcast of the classic holiday tale It’s a Wonderful Life! Adapted for radio theatre by Tony Palermo with original music and score by Jonathan Greene, this annual radio theatre benefit raises funds for nonprofit arts organizations across the greater New Orleans area. This year we welcome WWL-TV anchor Mike Hoss as our Narrator. Returning for his seventh year as George Bailey is William Lee, with Leah Richards as Mary Hatch Bailey. Joining IAWL this year are Big Easy Award winning New Orleans actor Michael Sullivan as angel Clarence Oddbody and local comic star Johnny Rock as Mr. Potter.
Also in the cast are Julia Sevin as Violet Bick, Christopher Lilly as Uncle Billy, Jared Foreman as the Superintendent of Angels, and a cast of 15 New Orleans voice talents and actors.
The production is produced and directed by multiple award-winning New Orleans actor and television personality Vatican Lokey. The Executive Producer is Stephen James. All patrons who purchase a ticket for the show will also receive one General Admission ticket to Christmasfest!
You MUST BRING YOUR PRINTED TICKET to the Convention Center. E-tickets and Neon app tickets CANNOT BE ACCEPTED at the door!
What do I get for the price?
When you purchase a ticket from a production member or here on Eventbrite, you receive admission to the production as well as one General Admission to ChristmasFest!
This performance is a benefit. Where does the money go?
All money collected from the show is donated to local nonprofit and not-for-profit arts organizations in the greater New Orleans area. The 2015 recipient is the new Gretna Cultural Center for the Arts , opening January 2016 in Gretna, LA. This new multipurpose legitimate theatre will house local and regional productions, dance, art, and cultural events, as well as the Gretna Mainstreet New Music Theatre Festival April 1-3 2016.
This performance is also being broadcast. Where and why?
The radio theatre performance of IAWL will be broadcast LIVE on WGSO 990AM and online at wgso.com. The broadcast is our holiday gift to the people of New Orleans and across the globe who cannot be at the performance.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There are no ID requirements or age limit for IAWL. It is a completely family-friendly event. We do however suggest that children no younger than 5 attend, for sound issues. Remember, the show will be broadcast LIVE on WGSO 990AM, and extraneous sounds will hamper the show.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is accessible through public transport, as well as easy access from the I-10. The RTA bus lines that run past the Convention Center are: 5; 11; 28; The Canal streetcar and the Riverfront line also serve the area, with the Riverfront line going directly to the Convention Center. There are also a number of paid parking lots around the Convention Center open for the event.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes! If you cannot use your ticket, please pass it along to someone who will enjoy the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You must present either tickets purchased from the cast or a printout of your Eventbrite ticket at the door. Patrons will be issued another ticket which grants the bearer to one General Admission to Christmasfest as well as admittance to the show.
