It's A Big World Out There
Date and time
Description
Join us for our next food swap!
March in a college town .. You'd be hard pressed to find someone NOT talking about spring break.
The anticipation of sneaking off to a place far, far away, even if only for a few days ..
But you know .. it's bigger than the week itself .. as witnessed by the standard conversation chaser "well .. you know .. it IS all down hill from here. After break there's only .. what .. a couple of more weeks until April"
The wistful longing for spring ..
So in light of all places we dream of going .. or have been and seen .. we're going to bring a little bit of the world to us. Whether it be those fajitas you ate with margaritas on the beach, or pierogi with chilled vodka on the wobbly barstool in Poland, or the coq au vin you were nibbling on in the outside cafe in France .. remember .. when that really handsome man happened by?
Ahhh .. yes ... but nevermind all that .. you've got the picture
Bring your favorite ethnic dish & let the swapping begin!
** In addition to food swap items, we'll offer a few small snacks, if you'd like to bring a fun little something from around the world to share with everyone.

What to bring
* Food to swap: For this event we're going to focus on food from around the world.
Swappers are asked to bring items that follow common sense clean eating guidelines for nutrition and portion sizes. In this case, an item would be complete meal for two people. Think jamaican jerk chicken, irish stew, or homemade pasta like your Grandma from Italy made on Saturday afternoons.
A few special notes:
You can bring a bunch of one thing or multiples of a few different things. The idea being however many items you bring, you'll come home with that number of new things to try.
Package your comfort foods in a way that protects them & makes it clear the amounts you'd like to swap (Swaps are one for one)
If applicable, bring samples for others to try
Label or bring a list of ingredients for all your edibles, if possible, and note any dietary specifications – gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, etc
Please be sure to practice good food-safety standards. Take precautions to adequately protect your food not only while it is in transport, but also while it is at the swap (i.e. a cooler)
We will provide swap sheets, name tags, writing utensils, and other necessary materials for the event
