ITF Wheelchair Doubles Masters
Daily Event: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST)
Mission Viejo, CA
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The City of Mission Viejo will have the honor this November of being the first U.S. city to host the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Wheelchair Doubles Masters. The top eighteen doubles teams in the world will converge on Mission Viejo to compete for the Masters Titles in three divisions – Men’s, Women’s, and Quads.
Having the Masters take place in Mission Viejo seems only natural. Wheelchair tennis was founded in 1976 when Brad Parks of San Clemente first hit a tennis ball from a wheelchair and realized the potential of this new sport. Now the ITF Hall of Famer will serve as Honorary Chair of one of the most prestigious tournaments on the ITF Tour.
Americans David Wagner and Nick Taylor will be among a line-up of tennis stars from all over the world. The three-time Paralympic gold medalists in Doubles will be looking to grab a seventh Masters Title to add to their legendary resume. With the US Open, Wimbledon and the French and Australian Open as tour stops, all of these athletes will be attempting to add the illustrious Doubles Masters title here in Mission Viejo to their trophy shelves.
