Description

PIEDMONT TOUR

8 days / 7 nights in the  beautiful PIEDMONT Region   Prices are per person based on Double or Single Occupancy

OVERVIEW

Chocolate, Great Wine, Amazing winding roads, Stunning Vistas, Medieval Castles, You  and your Bike. It just can’t get any better

Right in the heart of the Langhe region, the city of Alba in the Italian Piedmont Region will be the base for our tour. Alba is not only beautiful, it is a superb place to eat and it's not for nothing that it is known as the gourmet capital of Piedmont. In particular famous for its white truffles and chocolates - it is where Ferrero Rocher and Nutella come from and the legendary Gianduia was invented here.

Ride along quiet roads that wind through some of Italy’s most scenic countryside.

Climb into the vine-covered Langhe Hills surrounded by the towering Alps and Apennines. Of course Alba is also the heart of Italy's premier wine region - the Langhe and one of the best places to cycle in Northern Italy.

Piemonte is the home of the Campionissimo, Fausto Coppi and rivaled Tuscany as a producer of great cycling champions.  This is the area where Coppi went riding all the time and so will you for 7 days.

Do I have to take my own road bike or can I rent one in Italy?

Most participants bring their own bikes to our tours. However, If you prefer not to bring your own bike, we'll be happy to suggest and recommend  our partner bike shops in Piedmont. They carry top of the line Wilier, Bianchi and other bike brands. Arrangements for rental bikes must be made directly with the bike rental shop and are solely the responsibility of the trip participant renting the bike.

What is the weather like in May?

Piedmont has a diverse climate with distinct changes in seasons. Summers are typically hot and dry, and the spring and fall are subject to changeable weather, with mild temperatures and occasional showers. On most days you’ll be comfortable riding in a short-sleeved jersey, although when you head out in the morning, you might want to wear a lightweight jacket or vest, arm warmers and knee/leg warmers. Rain is possible year-round, so don’t forget to bring waterproof, breathable rain gear.

The weather in ALBA, Piedmont and surrounding areas for the month of May averages from a high of 71F to a low of 60F
