Description
The Italian department at NUIG, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Dublin, Slow Food Galway and the local Italian restaurateurs present the culture of Italian food.
A conversation about the pleasure of good food, and the story of its presence in the West of Ireland.
Italian cuisine is among the most popular in the world, and the lively, multicultural Galway makes no exception. We will talk about this, engaging the expertise of the Italian restaurateurs, including popular local venues such as Mona Lisa, Il Vicolo, Basilico, La Collina, Sheridans Cheesemongers, wine importer Enrico Fantasia... and our list is growing every day. They will contribute with their experiences, stories and ideas, showing us the significance of making Italian food in Galway.
After the talks, guests will proceed to the foyer of the Orbsen Building, where they will enjoy a taste of the Italian ritual of the aperitivo: an evening chat over a glass of wine and good food, offered by the sponsors of the evening.
Food, wine and conversation are important parts of an Italian evening: “Italian Food Culture Meets the Atlantic Way” is a chance to experience them in Galway, on a Spring evening.
