ITAA Social Engagement Cmte Webinar: Being the change we wish to see
Event Information
About this Event
TA’s roots in social psychology remain an important element of our organizational culture, as reflected in the enthusiastic response to the first Social Engagement Committee webinar last year.
Our second webinar will take place on Monday, 1 March 2021 from 9-11 GMT (UTC) (note that this is the correct day/time, not 2 March as published elsewhere). The theme will be: Being the change we wish to see; upholding our ethical values in the context of increasingly polarized global perspectives, and doing so from an “I’m OK, You’re OK, We’re OK, They’re OK” position.
We will be considering the problem of hyperpolarization: Why is it happening and how can we most usefully address it? The challenge we face is how to hold firm to and actively protect our belief in an open, inclusive, and respectful society while not shutting down views that differ from ours. As transactional analysts, we have valuable insights and skills that we can bring to bear on this problem:
- What are these insights and skills?
- What challenges do we face in engaging in this social arena of hyperpolarized views?
- What resources do we have or can we draw on to encourage our own capacity to be changed by the experience?
In the webinar, you can address such questions with other ITAA members from around the world. The number of participants is limited, so sign up soon if you are interested. We look forward to connecting with you.
