Presentation Title: Down the Rabbit Hole: An analysis of 3 APT active groups.

Presentation Abstract: Since the public release of Mandiant’s report on the Threat Actor group they call APT1 there has been greater visibility into what many people consider Advanced Persistent Threat. I will discuss three Threat Actor groups, including APT1, which are currently actively compromising systems in several industry verticals. As part of the discussion I will provide an overview of each group, recent attack campaigns they carried out, tools and tactics they utilize as well as specific indicators you can use to identify these groups in your systems.
Presenter’s Bio: Chris is the Lead for the Advanced Tools, Tactics and Analysis group (ATTA) within the EMC Critical Incident Response Center, aka the Honey Badgers. Prior to EMC Chris held Information Security and Intelligence positions with organizations including MIT Lincoln Laboratory, National Security Agency, Office Of Naval Intelligence. In addition to infrastructure Chris has held roles on the product side including Chief Technology Officer of NitroSecurity (acquired by McAfee), Chief Technology Officer of AllSecure Networks and Director of Technology at CertCo.

The New Hampshire Chapter of the ISSA was founded in May 2006 as the 109th world wide chapter. We generally meet the third Thursday of each month, generally alternating locations between Portsmouth and Manchester.
