Description
Bertram Karon will speak on the topic of "Who am I to treat this person? What it feels like to treat a 'seriously mentally ill' person." There will be opportunities to ask questions and to possibly share your thoughts.
For those of you who don't already know Bertram, he has extensive experience providing therapy for people diagnosed with schizophrenia and researching such therapy, and is co-author of the book "Psychotherapy of schizophrenia: The treatment of choice."
You can read, or watch and listen, to a bit about Bertram and his perspective at this link.
One article by Bertram which is available online is "The Tragedy of Schizophrenia Without Psychotherapy."
This event will be the first of what is planned to be a series of ISPS online meetings, where ISPS members and other interested persons will be able to listen to and engage with leaders in our field around topics of interest.
These meetings are free to ISPS members, with a donation of $5-$20 requested from others, though no one turned away for lack of funds. Please do register if you want to attend!
(And note the time is noon Eastern time, so that's 9 AM Pacific time etc. - mind those time zones!)
