Description

The San Juan Islands Farm Tour is a unique opportunity to visit farms on the island. Join us for the 2018 San Juan Farm Tour and discover the local bounty! Farms are open by the designated times listed below.

Start your tour off right with a pre-tour breakfast at The Kitchen! (tickets $15)

Wear appropriate outdoor shoes and attire. Please respect farm host locations and adhere to directions or instructions - these are farms with active operations and require your attention for your own safety.

Farms will be flagged with a banner.

NO ANIMALS ALLOWED ON SITE (except the farm animals of course).

PLEASE WEAR SUITABLE FOOTWEAR AND DRESS FOR THE WEATHER.

NO TICKET SALES ON SITE.



The Kitchen 8:30 - 10

Kick off your farm tour with a delicious, locally sourced breakfast at one of Eastsound’s favorite farm-to-table outdoor restaurants.

Coffelt Farm 1pm Tour; Farm Stand 1-5

Join in a Farm Walk at 1pm and learn the history of this 150-year-old farm. Visit one of Orcas Island’s most charming farm stands featuring beef, lamb, pork, raw milk, eggs, produce, sheepskins, wool socks, hats and yarn.

Girl meets Dirt 12 - 5

Taste delicious preserves from the historic orchards of Orcas Island, thirst-quenching shrubs, tasty bitters and treats from other local business. Emphasis on organic farming practices and local fruits.

Orcas Farm 11 - 3

Walk the paths of this intensively planted market garden where food and flowers grow together to promote plant health and maximum biodiversity.

Maple Rock Farm 11 - 3

Visit Maple Rock’s farm stand, learn about small-scale commercial production and no-till farming practices. After the Farm Tours, join in the party with a community potluck with Lions Club-hosted beer garden and music. (post this on map or somewhere else as well)

Red Rabbit Farm 11 - 3

Taste historic Red Rabbit Farm’s small batch preserves made with fruits and vegetables from local farmers, sea salt from Italy, spices from around the world, and herbs and greens from their own backyard.

Warm Valley Farm 10 - 3

Visit our farm’s historic heirloom orchard, and market garden. Watch us press fresh cider. Learn about regenerative agriculture and shop for delicious produce, eggs, flowers and heritage pork in our farmstand.

Orcas Island Public School Garden 11 - 3

Come and learn about the OI “Honorable Harvest” program, an indigenous guideline to harvesting in a sustainable and mindful way. Buy fresh produce, kids watercolors of garden, calendula salve, and handmade nettle cordage.

Doe Bay Garden 11 - 3

Located on the grounds of the Doe Bay resort, this one acre intensively planted food and flower garden provides fresh veggies, herbs and flowers directly to the Doe Bay Café.

West Beach Farm 11 - 3

This charming farm offers beef, lamb, pork, and beautiful sheepskins for sale. Watch a demo of their small farm equipment.

Island Thyme Farm 1 - 4

Visit this gorgeous lavender garden and rustic workshop where aromatic botanicals are infused into Island Thyme’s homemade soaps and skin care products. Visit the goats, chickens and bees!
