Event description
Isabel Allende, author of VIOLETA - a virtual ticketed event

About this event

Isabel Allende, author of many bestselling favorite novels, from The House of the Spirits to A Long Petal of the Sea, celebrates the release of her latest, Violeta, with a special virtual ticketed event coordinated by Books & Books and cosponsored by 14 other independent bookstores from across the United States.

Violeta is a sweeping novel that tells the epic story of Violeta del Valle, a woman whose life spans one hundred years and bears witness to the greatest upheavals of the twentieth century.

She tells her story in the form of a letter to someone she loves above all others, recounting devastating heartbreak and passionate affairs, times of both poverty and wealth, terrible loss and immense joy. Her life will be shaped by some of the most important events of history: the fight for women’s rights, the rise and fall of tyrants, and ultimately, not one, but two pandemics.

Born in Peru and raised in Chile, Isabel Allende's books include Of Love and Shadows, Eva Luna, and Paula. Her books have been translated into more than forty-two languages and have sold more than seventy-four million copies worldwide.

Ticket buyers will receive a link to watch the program on the day of the event. This is good for one device. If you are watching with a friend on the same device, you can purchase an additional copy of Violeta at https://www.boswellbooks.com/book/9780593496206 .

To avoid any missed communication, please make sure that Eventbrite is not blocked by your email system. For this event, tickets include sales tax and Eventbrite ticket fees.

Violeta goes on sale on January 25 and we will allow folks to pick up their copy of Violeta in advance of the event, but please note, tickets are not refundable. Boswell does not ship outside the continental United States. Media mail orders can take up to four weeks to arrive outside the state of Wisconsin. International attendees should visit the Books and Books website to purchase tickets.

This event is coordinated by Books & Books of Florida and cohosted by Anderson's Book Store, Boulder Book Store, Changing Hands, Gibson's Bookstore, Left Bank Books, Northshire, Politics and Prose, RJ Julia, Square Books, Tattered Cover, The King's English, University Bookstore of Seattle, and Village Books and Paper Dreams.
