Is Your Nonprofit Ready to Start a Social Enterprise?
Event Information
Description
SocialVentures, AEP, The Columbus Foundation, IGS Energy, Safelite AutoGlass, and United Way of Central Ohio, invite you to three, free information sessions to determine if social enterprise will be your nonprofit organization's next endeavor to assist in financially supporting your mission.
This second session examines what it takes for organizations to be successful innovators and how ready your nonprofit is to explore social enterprise. With special attention to issues such as setting priorities, engaging outside assistance, and establishing a structure that will allow ideas to incubate and develop, participants will learn about critical steps for successful investigation and planning and determine if their nonprofit is ready to begin work on developing a social enterprise to expand its revenues and enhance the sustainability of its mission.
This series of three information sessions introduces participants to social enterprise and SocialVentures’ Nonprofit Catalyst Program, which includes a nine-month immersion initiative in partnership with CauseImpact to develop a launch-ready social enterprise. These sessions will also help nonprofit organizations determine if Nonprofit Catalyst is the right fit to advance the organization's mission work in a sustainable way.
All three sessions, generously hosted by The Columbus Foundation, take place in Davis Hall. The Columbus Foundation is located at 1234 E. Broad St. The session begins at 10:00 am and ends at noon on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. While all three sessions are free, seating is limited and advance registration for each session is required.
Applications to participate in Nonprofit Catalyst will open to all nonprofit organizations throughout Central Ohio on January 8, 2018. Scholarships are available. Applications for the program and for scholarship assistance will be available online.
