New York State is set to offer the most generous Paid Family Leave benefit in the Nation. As a follow up to our webinar in June learn how this may be affecting your organization and employees now and in the future. 

 

Starting January 1st, 2018, the New York State Paid Family Leave will provide employees job protection and paid leave to care for a family member with a serious health condition, care for a new child, or assistance when someone is called to active military service. This program is mandated for all private employers with at least 1 employee. When fully phased in, employees will be able to receive a maximum of 67% of their pay for up to 12 weeks. An insurance policy must be purchased alongside the employers Statutory Disability Insurance Policy and deductions may have started as recently as July 1st, 2017. Learn how this new policy will impact your organization and employees and what you can start doing to prepare yourself for this upcoming regulation.

About Our Presenter: Eric Laughiln is licensed as a NYS Life & Health Insurance Broker as well as a NYS Property & Casualty Insurance Broker. Eric assists hundreds of NYCON members with all of their insurance needs. He holds a Bachelors degree from SUNY Albany and prior to coming on board with CS Plus, served as the Health Insurance Bookkeeper for NYCON and helped to reconcile the administered health, dental, life and FSA plans offered by NYCON.

Council Services Plus is a part of the NYCON Family of Nonprofit Services.
