Event description

Description

The Second Annual
Irvine Symposium on Emerging Research in Transportation (ISERT)
January 18-19, 2019
The Beckman Center, Irvine, CA 92697, USA

Sponsored by: The Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Irvine (ITS-Irvine) and The Pacific Southwest Region 9 University Transportation Center (PSR-UTC)

The symposium is for academic idea exchange among researchers and practitioners on emerging research and applications in transportation. The conference will include podium presentations, poster sessions as well as innovative idea-exchange sessions. As the symposium immediately follows the annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board meeting, the researchers traveling to the USA from around the world, and specifically from the Pacific Rim countries may find the symposium a convenient stop for focused academic exchange on selected topics.

The weather in January is comfortably warm, and the location is conveniently located just 5 miles from Newport Beach, 50 miles from Los Angeles, 3 miles from the Santa Ana airport and 40 miles from the LAX international airport. Nearby attractions include Disney Land 30 minutes away and Hollywood 1 hour away, by car.

The conference presentations and posters are selected based on online submission of Abstracts (no more than 200 words) in the following broad areas.

Theme areas:
