Join us for an amazing online event celebrating all things Irish! With thanks to the Irish Government's Global Irish Emigrant Support .

About this event

The Gaelic League of Los Angeles is dedicated to preserving and promoting Irish (language and culture). We are a branch of Conradh na Gaeilge. We teach Irish language classes and love to share our knowledge and love of Irish culture far and wide.

To that end, we host an Irish Immersion Weekend every year -- and this year it will be fully online apart from the Pop-Up Gaeltacht which will be live in Santa Monica as well as online.

Here is some of the fun we've got planned:

IRISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

We have classes for everyone -- from complete beginners to advanced with teachers from Oideas Gael.

IRISH MUSIC

Get ready for Irish music (harp, uilleann pipes...) as well as Irish singing.

IRISH CULTURE

Come and listen to Irish stories. Learn how to pass the language on to your children.

Irish Immersion Weekends have classes for Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced learners. They also include workshops in music, dance, sport etc. Our Book Club is expecting a very special guest on Saturday. On May Day (Lá Bealtaine) the amazing Irish speaker, musician, and human rights worker, Nadia Dobrianska, will help us learn basic phrases in Ukrainian through Irish! Our great teachers from Oideas Gael are back. Feel free to join in with a wee story, poem, song, or joke as Gaeilge at our Pop-Up Gaeltacht on Saturday evening. There's something for everyone. Tá muid ag súil go mór le sibh a fheiceáil ann. If it's all new to you, look forward to connecting with a positive community of learners and speakers.

There will be a different Zoom link for each day of the immersion weekend.

Attend as many or as few sessions as you like. The times here are Pacific Coast time.
