Originally scheduled to premiere Off-Broadway at the 14th Street Y in NYC, Iris Bahr’s funny and moving new solo work, DAI 2.0, is the sequel to her award winning solo show, DAI (enough), in which she portrayed 10 different characters in a Tel Aviv cafe moments before a suicide bomber enters. DAI had a hit run Off Broadway, and a tour across the US, Canada, Europe and Latin America, including a command performance at the United Nations for over 100 ambassadors and delegates.
DAI 2.0, follows up with the aftermath of the bombing fifteen years later, as a reporter who survived the original bombing returns to interview a wide range of family members of the victims. With humor and pathos, the show explores the current state of the conflict and Israeli society: both its lovers and its critics, delving into the plight of the Palestinians, modern Anti-Semitism in Germany and the plight of Holocaust Survivors in Israel today, and more. In this new evolution into Live Streaming, DAI 2.0 includes both filmed and live elements created over the last 6 months during quarantine. Ms. Bahr has re-examined the text through the lens of the state of the world, updating the script to respond to the current moment.
