Event description

Description

iRest is a natural process of mindfulness meditation based on ancient yogic wisdom and modern day science that has been shown to effectively help with sickness, injury, pain in your body and mind, anxiety depression, PTSD, and insomnia/sleep disorders. This practice helps both the physical and emotional aspects of our well-being. iRest teaches self-care tools that lead you to find and experience the self-mastery, resilience, and well-being that you already possess within yourself.

This class will consist of an iRest guided meditation along with some brief information and education provided about iRest. All are welcome! No prior experience necessary. Come and join us as you give yourself this restorative practice!

Wear loose comfortable clothing with layers. Yoga mats and props are provided by studio but feel free to bring your own.

Instructor Bio: Rebecca Gellman, 200 RYT, Level 1 iRest, is trained in vinyasa and hatha style yoga. She completed her yoga teaching training in April 2015 in upstate NY where she’s lived most of her life until moving to Wilmington this past summer. She has completed additional training in trauma sensitive yoga and therapeutic yoga. She has been a student of yoga and meditation for 15 years, frequently sharing the benefits of these practices with her clients. A local health care professional, Rebecca, teaches yoga, iRest, and mindfulness to veterans. She enjoys helping yoga students learn to tune in to and listen to their bodies in order to make the choices best for them throughout class and how to transfer that off mat into their everyday lives.
