This two day adventure will start at the Buffalo Camp at the American Prairie Reserve where hikers will congregate and set up camp in the afternoon before heading out to see some of the sites of the area. In the evening the group will gather at the Enrico Center to hear presentations from representatives of the C.M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge and the APR. On the following day we will hike up to the top of Brandon Butte with expansive views of the CMR and beyond. After the hike their will be plenty of time to travel to the Slippery Ann elk viewing area, also located on C.M.R. elk at the height of the rutting season. Be sure to bring binoculars and a comfortable chair. Over the two days, there will also an opportunities to view prairie dog colonies and associated species like burrowing owls, other nesting birds, raptors, and the APR bison herd.

Hikers will need to reserve a spot at the Buffalo Camp for Wednesday, Oct 2, by emailing visit@americanprairie.org with your request for a reservation.
