Youth Activities
On Saturday, we will have a free introduction to quidditch workshop for those aged 5-18 (aimed at elementary, middle, and high school students). We will go over the basics of the game, run some drills, and have a scrimmage. On Sunday, we will have a specialized workshop lasting 2 hours with a $15 registration fee. In that workshop, we will cover more position specific drills and have more organized scrimmages. Sunday workshop participants can purchase a tournament t-shirt in a youth or adult size for $10 at the time of registration.
Adult Pick-Up Games
We will be hosting pick-up games for those 18 and over following the conclusion of competition on Sunday. Pick-up games will begin in the afternoon or early evening, depending on when the tournament ends. Games will be overseen by USQ or IQA certified head referees. Certified head referees will be paid $20 per pick-up game and all snitches will be paid $8 per game, the same rates as the other games at this event. USQ will provide the equipment as well as medical staff. The registration fee is $15 and will cover 2-4 games per person. Those who wish to be covered under USQ’s accident insurance policy can follow the same guidelines that we described here for Pan-American Games athletes. Sign-ups will be done primarily on-site but those who want to sign up in advance can do so.
Additional details about the format of the pick-up games, including what rulebook will be used, will be released soon. We may test out rules changes during these games.
Afterparty: Capital Ale House Board Game Bonanza
Join us on Sunday, July 14 at Capital Alehouse (Innsbrook location, 4024-A Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060) for an evening of food, fun, and board games!
