Join us to learn about IoT at Factory’s second IoT Brunch!


Designed for IoT professionals and enthusiasts, the second IoT brunch is about communicating IoT and what's behind it. We will hear from Tom Hayton and Cate Lawrence who will focus on how to best communicate IoT topics. Matas Petrikas will discuss non-screen IoT in the home.

About the Speakers:
Cate Lawrence
Cate Lawrence is an experienced technology journalist with a history writing for Sitepoint, ReadWrite and DZone, Cate is passionate about IoT. She specialises in a range of issues with an emphasis on UX, wearables, IoT, robotics, health tech, open source, blockchain and AI and likes to look beyond the hype to the real stories. She also works as Marketing Associate for IIoT VC and Connected Industry growth partners, Momenta Partners.

Tom Hayton
Tom Hayton is a Creative Director and Consultant working in the fields of tech, advertising and education, with clients worldwide. His mission is to empower businesses and individuals by helping them clarify their ideas and bring their stories to life. Usually the end product is video, but he also helps businesses and individuals to sharpen up their concepts, value propositions, and pitches. His work has appeared in TechCrunch, The Guardian, The Independent, VICE, and El País, among others, and clients include ADIDAS, Nike, TechCrunch/AOL, UEFA, solarisBank, WHO, and many smaller or medium size companies and startups. He is also an international speaker.

Matas Petrikas
Matas Petrikas is the CEO and Co-Founder of Vai Kai. He is a software developer and product manager. Born in a family of craftsmen, he played with ceramics and woodwork since his early childhood. During the 90s he produced electronic music his native Lithuania. In 2008 he joined SoundCloud as one of the first software engineers and PMs, where he has developed and managed the launches of the biggest music creator platform. With his new startup Vai Kai, Matas makes beautifully crafted connected toys that help children to learn and play better.
