Speaker Bio:

Dr. Azita Zerehgar has over 20 years of experience in pediatric dentistry. She was an Assistant Professor at the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan as well as at the Faculty of Dentistry at Tehran University. As a board certified pediatric dentist from Iran and a certified licensed dentist in Canada, she has dedicated all her enthusiasm and energy over the years to clinical experience, teaching, research, and oral health advancement of infants, children and adolescents that, along with her expertise in pediatric dentistry, allows her to contribute to the oral health of the children in Canada.

She has contributed to several research projects during her academic years of her professional life. The recent projects won National and Provincial Awards in Canada; one in 2016, and two in 2014;

She has had more than 80 Continuing Education presentations at various dental organizations in the realm of pediatric dentistry. Also, she is the recipient of numerous awards for Excellence in Teaching during her university teaching experience.

Dr. Zerehgar is a member of Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Canadian Association of Public Health Dentistry, Canadian Pediatric Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association, and she is a reviewer of Journal of Canadian Dental Association and JCDA OASIS.

She has had plenty of experience and knowledge working with difficult to manage children as well as mentally and physically challenged patients without or with conscious sedation including oral medication, Nitrous oxide-Oxygen sedation and GA in certain cases.
