Event description

Description

Brazilian mythos & spirituality are inspired by African slave roots, medieval Iberic traditions, colonial elements brought by Catholics as well as indigenous people. It overflows with deities & saints with a wide range of archetypal energies. Brazilian songwriters, drawing inspiration from this wealth of aesthetics & religious practices weave the storylines of their songs in reverence to the celestial powers of the Divine.

Masha Campagne & Voz Da Lapa, one of Bay Area favorites bring their passionate tributes to Brazilian greats as well as originals for this special show at The Center SF. Brimming with Latin flavors, sensuality, rich quite fire and deep soul they effectively convey the organic blend of happiness and intimacy of the music. Campagne has two internationally acclaimed CDs, she presented at prestigious venues such as SFJAZZ, Yoshi’s, Monterey Jazz just to name a few. ”Campagne's vocals display a rare combination of sophistication and sincerity." ~San Jose Mercury News
