Q&A | Protecting Intellectual Property at the University

The format of this seminar will be an open platform for faculty, staff and students to ask INVO any questions related to patent protection.  INVO expects engaging discussions and an opportunity to share insight into how inventors may want to approach IP protection.

INVO PANEL

John Haugen, JD
Associate General Counsel
John is an embedded attorney within INVO where he advises primarily on IP and licen
sing matters.  Prior to Northwestern, John was Senior Counsel of IP at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and an attorney in private practice at the IP law firm Brinks, Hofer, Gilson and Lione. 
 
Mike Moore, PhD  
Director of Licensing and Life Sciences
Mike has been with Northwestern's technology transfer office for over 13 years, primarily working with faculty at Feinberg and Weinberg.  Mike has licensed numerous technologies, including research tools like antibodies and mouse models as well as therapeutic compounds and diagnostic tools. 

Nicole Janovick, PhD, JD   
Invention Manager
Nicole manages a variety of inventor portfolios with a primary focus in life sciences, including medical devices, health data/IT and biotechnology.  She develops intellectual property protection strategies for research discoveries with an eye toward moving discoveries to the public domain.
