With special thanks to Dr. Indira Etwaroo, Frank Silvera Writer's Workshop and The Billie Holiday Theatre. A Collective Movement presents a reading of Gentrified: Metaphor of The Drum by Levy Lee Simon.

Directed by Keith Greer, Stage Manager Rachel Denise April.

A magical realism play with 4 men and 4 women, set in contemporary, Harlem USA. The play explores the ramifications of the gentrification movement in New York and nationally. African American, and life-long Harlemite, Reggie Green is having a sexual liaison with Shannon Durbin, who is white and recently moved to Harlem. Their secret affair suddenly becomes problematic when Shannon turns up pregnant. The two must decide what to do next while contemplating the opinions of their close friends, all Black on one side and all white on the other.

Allen II(Tyson vs Ali), Bill Coelius(Taking Woodstock), Willie Carpenter (The Village) & Sharlee Taylor (Messiah) With percussionists Ron McBee and Willie Ajibuli White.
