About Stephen Poon:
Stephen Poon is a Vice President, Portfolio Manager and a Certified Financial Planner, and brings with him the sum total of his accomplishments and experience. He received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Toronto in 1982, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from York University. He then started his investment career as a credit analyst at the Union Bank of Switzerland. Later, he joined Bankers Trust as an Associate, managing individual and corporate accounts. After working with a major Canadian securities brokerage firm as an investment specialist for three years, he joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1990 and achieved distinct membership on the President’s Council and Chairman’s Council for superior service and performance on behalf of his clients. In 1994, Stephen was chosen as an Ontario semi-finalist for the Investment Dealers Association (now IIROC) Distinction Award for Canada. This national award was created to recognize and award outstanding financial advisors who exemplify excellent service to clients and their communities. In all, Stephen has a strong background in securities analysis, portfolio management, financial planning and estate planning, and his team has over 30 years of combined investment and wealth management experience to offer innovative services and global investment solutions.
