He currently serves as president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Sharon Goulet, MSW, RSW - Indigenous Social Planner with the City of Calgary and Monique Fry, MA- Indigenous Liaison with Calgary Learns. – “Decolonizing funding processes”

Listening and collaborating with our Elders and local Indigenous Knowledge Keepers to best support programs for the Indigenous communities of Calgary includes that we look differently at all aspects of program development, creation and evaluation. This responsibility also extends to the ways in which funding decisions and processes are done.

Sharon and Monique will share the contributions and stories of how they are responding to the needs of the community in their capacity as funders and Indigenous community members.

This informal plenary is meant to provide insight into promising practices that are rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and doing.
