Investing in Diverse Fund Managers

A U.S. capitalist system where just 1% of all capital is managed by women and people of color, who make up 70% of the population, perpetuates and increases inequality and drags down our whole economy. A cornerstone of the Ford Foundation’s Mission Investments team is to advance a more inclusive form of capitalism by selecting experienced diverse-owned investment firms to manage a portion of our capital.

Ford Foundation and Commonfund Institute are pleased to host a discussion with our peers who are at the forefront of this effort, moderated by George Suttles, Executive Director, Commonfund Institute, with Ford Foundation trustee Gaby Sulzberger, Rockefeller Brothers Fund trustee Valerie Rockefeller, and trustee and interim CEO of the Nathan Cummings Foundation Rey Ramsey.
