I've got you! Join me for an evening of oil painting in the arty heart of Birmingham. I will take everybody through the basics of oil painting, so absolutely no painting experience is necessary, but regular painters are welcome!

COLOUR THEORY: how to stop oils from going 'muddy'! Colour mixing and theory is tricky to navigate, but we will go through the basics here.

ACHIEVING REALISM: what is the key to taking that photograph and turning it into a recognisable painting? I will break it down so you CAN start achieving realistic painting.

THE BASIC TOOL KIT: what you need to begin your first oil painting. I will show you how affordable and achievable oil painting can be: it's not just for the masters; anyone can do to and enjoy the creative potential it holds.

All materials are included: oil paints, thinning mediums, aprons, brushes, table easels, oil painting paper and 1 canvas (30x40cm) each.

This is an introductory 1.5-hour class, so don't expect to come out with a masterpiece (unless you’re a secret Da Vinci), but you will leave with a new set of basic skills, and confidence that anybody, ABSOLUTELY ANYONE, can paint with oils.
