Introduction to the Sewing Machine

This is the perfect introduction to teach you how to confidently use your sewing machine.

The course runs over two Sundays 1st and 8th of October, 2x2 hour sessions; you will get a thorough introduction to your sewing machine learning the following :

How to thread it up, wind and insert a bobbin, understand tension and how to troubleshoot any problems.

You will be taught about different seams and their uses, discuss fabric, thread types and needle sizes.

Explore the stitches your machine has to offer and how to sew corners and curves.

This course is designed for people that have their own sewing machine and want to be able to use it independently.

However if you wish to have a go at sewing before purchasing a machine yourself we have machines ( only avaiable via prior booking do let us know).

Classes are taught by an experience and qualified tutor, in relaxed small groups. Teaching consist of demonstration as well as one to one and peer support.
