Introduction to the Zero Waste Lifestyle
Event Information
Description
We are hosting this workshop as an introduction to the Zero Waste lifestyle for those who are interested in a more sustainable lifestyle or just starting their journey towards zero waste!
The Zero Waste lifestyle is all about reducing your carbon footprint and creating as little trash as possible. This includes everything from buying in bulk, shopping secondhand, supporting local businesses and farms, and slowly swapping out items in your home for reusable or more sustainable alternatives.
It's a way of slowing down and becoming a more intentional consumer.
We are the co-founders of Eco Collective, a Zero Waste store in Seattle and a community of zero waste advocates. Genevieve was introduced to the zero waste movement because of her love of the ocean (and a desire to protect it from climate change) and her minimalist lifestyle. Marimar discovered zero waste when she was running a startup and craving a simpler, less chaotic and more frugal way to live. We'll be sharing our stories about the challenges and added benefits of this lifestyle and why we'd never go back.
We'll show you the produce bags, reusable thermoses, portable utensil sets and jar collections that make all this possible. Our intention is to make finding zero waste alternatives as easy and convenient as it is to walk into a regular drug store or grocer.
There will be an FAQ at the end to answer all your questions about using safety razors, menstrual cups, and anything else you want to know.
Come enjoy local cider and wine, tour our newly opened zero waste store, and connect with like minded people who are getting into Zero Waste.
