ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Is your business looking at the government sector as a new potential market? There is plenty of opportunity but where do you begin? This workshop is designed for those who are just beginning their foray into doing business in the government sector.

Attendees will learn about:

  • The organization of the Federal Government

  • Registering to become a Government Contractor

  • Government Contracts – types and set-asides

  • Selling to the government

    • o Developing a Marketing Plan
    • o Implementing your plan
  • How PTAC can help you to achieve success

This is an introductory course which covers preliminary steps that a potential contractor needs to understand and how government agencies make purchases.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Mary Lee Kolich, Procurement Specialist, will lead the discussion. Ms. Kolich is a seasoned professional with 30 years’ experience and a solid understanding of diverse business management applications. She has demonstrated knowledge and experience in contract negotiations with federal agencies and prime contractors. Mary Lee served as a counselor for the Women’s Business Institute and the Small Business Development Center in Southern Maryland. Later she transferred over to the Maryland PTAP where her experience in the government sector could be shared with companies attempting to pursue government contracting.
