The DECE Program Assessment Team presents the Introduction to the CLASS Tool Training. This full-day training will provide an overview of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System tool used by the NYC Department of Education to evaluate Pre-K For All program readiness and performance. CLASS measures interactions that happen in the classroom between teaching staff and students. Participants will have an opportunity to gain an understanding of the 10 dimensions of the tool, and identify effective teaching practices through the CLASS lens using videos from real classrooms and with a focus on the Instructional Support domain (one of three domains found in the CLASS assessment). Note that the training is designed for Pre-K leaders, teachers, and staff who want to gain a more in-depth understanding of the CLASS tool.
