Introduction to Teaching for Biliteracy for Administrators is a workshop for school-based or central office administrators supporting biliteracy instruction and programming in one-way and two-way immersion/dual language and transitional bilingual programs. Workshop participants will explore the leadership considerations of teaching for biliteracy, the implications of a paradigm shift to biliteracy from monoliteracy, as well as strategies to build capacity for a variety of stakeholders in a biliteracy model. Participants will learn to identify “look fors” of the biliteracy framework and instructional practices to meet the needs of a wide range of students – both sequential and simultaneous bilinguals – participating in biliteracy development.
