Event description

Description

This two part workshop is suitable for people interested in the idea of smallholding or wanting a piece of land to try to live a life that is more basic and self sufficient. The first part will be at Lawrence Weston Community Farm on 5th October, the second at my smallholding in Yatton on Saturday 26th October (back up day in case of bad weather 2nd November). Both sessions will run 10am to 1pm.

We will cover Structural Issues including land management and planning; animal husbandry, including poultry, sheep and pigs; growing food for human consumption and to feed your livestock. Also other products such as making charcoal, baskets, growing wood for burning, marketing and covering your costs and where to get on-going support.

The venue in Yatton is in easy reach of the train station on foot or by bike, details of how to get there will be sent nearer the time. There will be refreshments at both venues. In Yatton in particular you must come ready for the weather. The fee charged for this ticket covers both parts of the workshop.
