Event description

Description

Scientific computing is the fusion of the two disciplines of mathematics and computer science. Through a series of programming exercises, students will learn and apply the same data structures and algorithms used by Brookhaven scientists to tackle modern research challenges by remotely accessing their own fully preconfigured programming workstation (virtual PCs) hosted in Amazon’s cloud. (Please note: There is no prior programming experience required to participate. Some previous exposure to Algebra is recommended but not mandatory.)
