Introduction to Python

Curious about what this programming stuff is all about? Learn how to write computer programs using Python. Python is one of the most popular programming languages and is used throughout the tech industry, by both the smallest start-ups and the largest organizations in the world. It is a powerful and easy-to-learn language that will have you creating your own programs in no time.

This is a class aimed at beginners, so no previous coding experience is necessary. We will cover basic programming concepts by looking at code and doing hands-on programming. As this is only a few hours, we will start with the basics and dive in as deeply as time allows.

Requirements:
* A laptop computer. Ideally, the computer is a Mac or Linux machine, or a Windows machine running a Linux Virtual Machine or Cygwin. Please have your machine ready before the class so we don't have to spend time setting up people's environments. We will be using Python 2.7, so please have that version installed.

This class is taught by NYC Resistor member Miria Grunick.
