Description

Event Description | Learn the absolute basics of coding with the Scratch programming language. What is a sprite? What does every script of code need in order to execute? How can you integrate coding across the curriculum?

This session will provide you the high-level knowledge needed to introduce Scratch into your classroom.

Background | With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.

Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is provided free of charge. Learn more about Scratch and create your free account here.

Skill Level | #Beginner (no previous knowledge expected)

All attendees are welcome to stay for the afternoon session: Scratch Advanced Topics.
