Phenology is the study of cyclic and seasonal natural phenomena, especially in relation to climate and plant and animal life. Because of yearly variations in weather, calendar dates are usually not a good basis for gardening decisions. In this workshop we will be discussing the physiological time scale that is biologically more accurate than calendar days, spanning the scale from folk wisdom through to the collection of scientific data for global warming.
