Introduction to Raising Yellow Perch

About this Event

Have you considered raising your own fish for food or profit? Yellow perch is a mainstay of the Friday night fish fry, and The Farmory aims to increase the number of farms producing yellow perch as a food fish. In this workshop, participants will receive an introductory overview on getting started with raising yellow perch, including:

• Life cycle of yellow perch

• Environmental preferences and grow out requirements

• Indoor and outdoor growing systems

• Cost analysis and planning considerations

• Farmory fingerling perch production goals in 2020

• Time for questions and answers.

This workshop will be taught by Dr. Ken Webb, UW-Green Bay Research Associate, and Claire Thompson, Farmory Executive Director.

Space is limited. Registration is required. At will donations will be appreciated.

If you have questions please contact John at john@nwgreenbay.org or call at (920) 544-0763.
