Event description

Description

Phylogenetic analyses are essential for a range of genomic studies. This three-day hands-on workshop will cover cutting-edge techniques for phylogenetic analyses using pathogen sequence data. The workshop will be run by phylogenetics experts, Sebastian Duchene and Jane Hawkey (Dept of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Bio21 Institute, University of Melbourne). There will also be an open ‘phylogenetics clinic’ where participants can get help with their own data analysis.

Invited speakers

Dr Remco Bouckaert (Centre for Computational Evolution, University of Auckland) *Author of the popular phylogenetics program BEAST2

Dr John-Sebastian Eden (Marie Bashir Institute, University of Sydney) *Expert in virus evolution
