Description

Mindfulness is a state of mind, an approach to life and an antidote to the busy-ness of life. It helps us to navigate life with a calmness and sense of confidence and it helps build our resilience, our ability to bounce back from the challenges and difficulties that arise in daily life and at work.

Put simply, mindfulness is about paying attention to our experience. It's about being fully present with whatever we are doing and whomever we are with. When we practice mindfulness we develop the ability to manage our attention, be less distracted and be better able to focus our energy where it will help us be most effective.

For many people, mindfulness helps them feel more calm and less stressed. It helps them relax and sleep better and it also helps them be less hard on themselves (and others). What comes from that is an increase in feelings of kindness, happiness and joy in their lives and relationships. Often people say it helps them be more focused and productive at work and feel less pressure from time and deadlines.

This 2 hour introductory workshop will give you a taste of what mindfulness is and how it can benefit you.

We will explore mindfulness through short guided meditation practices followed by discussion. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions as well as the space to simply enjoy some time for yourself without needing to say anything!
