Come along and learn mindfulness and meditation at a four week course.

Mindfulness is a state of being fully present in the moment. You can be mindful when doing chores, walking, being stuck in a traffic jam, or any activity. Mindfulness is a type of meditation. Other common forms of meditation are contemplation and visualisation.

Mindfulness and meditation are both practices that make people happier and which encourage calmness and inner peace in a busy life. Regular practice can help to:

  • Improve concentration and the ability to cope with distractions.
  • Reduce stress.
  • Improve physical and mental health.
  • Build a healthy lifestyle.
  • Improve glucose levels.
  • Improve depression and anxiety.
  • Improve eating habits and addictions.
  • Improve cardiovascular health and immune functioning.

Shanti and Madhuri are qualified meditation teachers with deep experience in mindfulness, and many different meditation traditions including breath focused meditation, loving kindness meditation, Buddhist meditation, yogic meditation, Christian contemplation, Sufi visualisation based meditation, and walking meditation. In this four week course you will learn how to meditate and be more mindful. You will experience meditation from different traditions and feel the difference that meditation and midnfulness can make to your life.

Spots are limited to around 8 attendees. The cost of the course is $70 per person.

The workshop location is in the Wattle Downs, Manurewa area.
