Event description

Description

Friday, May 26– Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Classes will be held 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm and 8:00 pm – 9:15 pm daily.

Maharishi Aroma Therapy is a program for creating balance and health through the use of essential oils which contain all sorts of marvelous healing abilities and health-promoting properties. These essential oils are nature’s pharmacy: the power, intelligence and generosity of nature concentrated in small and very precious bottles.

In this six-day full-time course you will experience many essential oils and hydrosols. You will also explore the different approaches to aromatherapy in the light of Maharishi Ayurveda®:

  • scientific
  • psychological/emotional/energetic
  • hydrosol
  • quantum

You will learn how to choose the proper essential oils, and the methods and precautions to take in their usage in order to balance your physiology and help to heal your body, mind, and emotions. Essential oils have been classified by the traditional ayurvedic physicians according to their predominant quality of doshas: vata, pitta, or kapha. Using essential oils can reverse imbalances in the physiology and reduce aggravation of the three doshas. The effect can be felt in the pulse immediately.

This course is taught by Diane Malaison, a Senior Maharishi Aroma Therapy Consultant and Teacher who has been formulating course content and teaching courses on Maharishi Aroma Therapy in MERU, Netherlands and internationally since 2011. She has a master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology, and a BS in Biochemistry (both from Laval University in Quebec City) and began working with aromatherapy in 1997.

Diane became a TM Teacher in 1977 and is currently completing a PhD at MUM with her dissertation on Aromatherapy and EEG.

This course is limited to 15 students.

Comments from students in the the March 2016 course

How wonderful to know that nature provides all of us with all the healing remedies we need in the essence of plants and packaged as essential oils which have a direct and immediate through our brain, skin, etc.

Diane has so much knowledge, and delivered it with such warmth and charm. She seemed to embody the results of years of experience using Maharishi Aroma Therapy in her personality.

During the course, I felt energized and uplifted from some of the oils we sampled. After the course,I had a minor wound to my ear lobe. The result was an ear ache. I applied Lavender Highland oil directly to the lobe, and the next day it was pain free, very much relieved. So then I put some directly on the joint on my middle finger that is very stiff, sore, and disfigured. This reduced the stiffness and soreness.

I loved the expertise that Diane shared so joyfully with us. I love the knowledge and greatly appreciated the opportunity to smell many of the essential oils during class.

Diane presented the information clearly and concisely. Great reference materials and I feel that I can use the information presented to help myself. I also enjoyed sampling the key essential oils and their effect on me.

I especially enjoyed the hydrosols.. The rose immediately stopped some acid reflux I was experiencing. As a matter of fact I had no digestive problems the entire 5 days of the course. I also had a wonderful experience with the spikenard- at first I was repelled by the smell, then it spoke to me and said "wait, stay I have something for you" and so I relaxed and waited and continued to smell and my entire brain lit up!

The teacher was excellent - patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic. It is obvious that Diane lives this knowledge. She is inspiring.

It was good to feel the difference in pulse before and after smelling the essential oils. Adding the element of pulse and essential oils' influence on it made the whole experience personal and relevant.

Right from the first sniff, this course was a game changer. Checking my pulse with each oil, I was able to understand and experience how my physiology would change to the oil's healing properties. The hydrosol's were even better. I want more!

I enjoyed experiencing the different oils during the course and felt significant differences in each. Experienced headache relief with lavender.

Yes. Completion of the TM Course is a prerequisite. Information about learning TM can be found at http://tm.org.

I am coming from out of town. Can I stay on campus and get a meal card?

Information about on-campus and off-campus housing, meals, and transportation can be found at http://invincibleamerica.org/info.html. Why is this course fee higher than the usual price?

Since this is a hands-on course which is limited to a small number of students, the course fee needs to be set at a higher price than the extremely discounted prices set for large groups in Dalby Hall.
