Introduction to Leading with Peace & Purpose
Event Information
About this Event
Context
Definition of apocalypse:
"an unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling".
We are living in and through an apocalypse. Multiple vectors including COVID-19, systemic racism and climate change are forcing all of us to open our hearts and our minds to fundamental realities. Every organization is re-examining their purpose, values, and business models.
Case for change
Leaders are being forced to confront their own complicity in perpetuating these challenges while at the same time evaluating the unprecedented opportunities for driving systemic change. The convergence of the explosion of suffering and the implosion of resources is compelling leaders to redesign and reimagine their work, their strategic plans, and most importantly, their roles.
Stress and anxiety are reaching unprecedented levels and threatening the mental health and wellbeing of the human infrastructure. This is a defining moment that requires leaders to have equanimity - to be grounded and at the same time, being able to empathize and energize others through their presence and actions.
Leaders are in uncharted waters. Leaders are seeking tools, frameworks, and support systems to allow for deeper self reflection and for recalibration of their individual and organizational purpose and impact. This inner work will empower leaders to design solutions with compassion for themselves and the communities that they serve.
