We’re a bit dumbfounded that so few companies have invested systematically in improving the innovation skills of their employees. The least charitable explanation for this oversight is that despite evidence to the contrary, many senior managers still assume that a few genetically blessed souls are innately creative, while the rest can’t come up with anything more exciting than suggestions for the cafeteria menu. - Harvard Business Review "The 5 Requirements of a Truly Innovative Company"
The purpose of GreenBuzz is to provide the network and skills to make sustainability professionals more effective and equipped to fulffill their sustainability vision. This workshop is exactly about that!
This workshop, brought to you by GreenBuzz and Collab Lab, is an introduction to innovation and collaboration problem solving techniques. We are piloting this new activity for the GreenBuzz community and other likemined professionals. Join in, we want to try this out with you!
What is it about
Innovation is paid a lot of lip-service in organisations and often approached from an organisational level. What does it mean to be innovative day in and day out? How do we solve problems in a way that takes in to account expert knowledge from various fields to create long-term sustainable solutions.
As the world and our working environments become increasingly complex with new depths of information and understanding, the problems we face are becoming more difficult or even impossible to solve. Creating solutions for wicked problems demands a new set of tools and a new way of working. Those tools are already here and many forward moving organisations and innovative industries like IT are putting them in to practice. Learn how you too can integrate these tools in to your work environment immediately.
Topics covered are participative decision making, creative and analytical thinking, information visualisation and synthesis, idea generation, thinking frameworks, innovation games and more.
