Introduction to Hypertension

The key to improving heart health is making practical and sustainable lifestyle changes at a pace that’s realistic for you. This class will teach employees and dependents who have hypertension how their medication, nutrition and exercise habits can help lower their blood pressure and improve their overall health. This class is taught by your Wellness Pharmacist, Wellness Dietitian and Program Director/Personal Trainer from the Employee Fitness Center.
Topics: American Heart Association’s recommendations for salt intake, DASH Diet 101, understanding how blood pressure medications work in the body, identifying common medication side effects of blood pressure medication, and how exercise can reduce your risk for heart related health conditions.
