Event Details

Federal Contracting Distributors (FCD) educates your small to medium sized business through webinars to empower you to win profitable government contracts. Our three-step educational series beginning with this introductory webinar teaches you how to navigate through the many barriers to entry when dealing with government contracting.  This webinar will give you insight and a competitive advantage to securing government contracts.

"Introduction to Government Contracting" is the first course in a three-part webinar series instructed by FCD. Following this introductory course, you will have the opportunity to attend an intermediate webinar titled "Securing Your First Government Contract." The third installment in this series is a Government Contracting Bootcamp webinar that meets once a week for four weeks.

Returning students are eligible for a discount on subsequent courses.

More details about these two courses will be released in the coming weeks. For more information, contact Gustavo Nieves at (864) 569-7068.

    • Acknowledgement of current realities facing federal agencies and government contractors by virtue of today's economic and political climates

    • Provide a basic understanding of government contracting mechanisms that is both engaging to existing contractors and digestible for those in attendance who are new to the federal space
    • Gain confidence & perspective that current political complications shouldn't deter new players from entering the market, nor should it push established firms to consider closing shop; rather, recognize that even small pivots can help circumvent financial trouble

About the Instructor

Jacob Dewitt
Jacob began his tenure in the federal contracting arena when he was 20 years old, teaming up with a disabled veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom.  After Jacob single-handedly grossed over $600,000 in revenue during his first quarter managing a GSA schedule for office supplies, the veteran named him his Chief of Operations and Headquarters Director.  Over the following two and a half years, Jacob nurtured and grew the company, taking it from one branch to four (including a toner remanufacturing facility that resupplied VA hospitals around the country); furthermore, he expanded their contracting domain from simple office supplies to include four GSA federal supply schedules (including IT products/services, industrial hardware, and medical equipment).  Under his watch, the company became a powerhouse player in the market, and it was named one of the top 10 fastest-growing privately owned American businesses in 2010 after only 3 years in operation.
